Who is the tea party? What is the tea party? Is there a group of tea party leaders? If there are leaders, who are they? What do they publish as their beliefs or agenda? Where are their headquarters?

My wife and I drove 33 miles each way to so called tea party meetings for 16 months. A damn joke. To me, the tea party is promulgated by the media as a place to cast blame and to criticize. The tea party is nothing more than splintered groups of honest US citizens who have their country in their best interests. I would like to see them get better organized and have more clout in the political arena.

Republican Party co-opted the damn thing as soon as Glenn Beck got his hands on it. You are better off going libertarian, not faux libertarian like beck. Tea party organization is full of COINTELPRO.

The government saw a threat in the tea party that people were getting fed up and lashing out and rightfully blaming the gooberment. So they enacted their play book from the 60's. Back then if they saw a grassroots movement that was gaining a following and strength, they would send in counter intelligence professionals (COINTELPRO) to infiltrate. From there they could direct the movement and purpose of the organization, false flag, thereby undermining the movement, gather intel, or whatever they deemed fit for that organization

The same thing happened to the tea party. They hit it from multiple angles in order to weaken it and undermine it. They started labeling tea partiers as racists, homophobes, domestic terrorists. Then they had controlled opposition, Glenn beck and Michelle Mallon intertwine themselves into it. The rapid rise of the tea party stopped when beck tainted it. In fact, they were ridiculed even more, and the strength they had withered shortly thereafter. It's death knell was when the Republican Party seemingly absorbed it, despite the vitriol the tea party originally had for both parties.

Anyone putting any hope in the tea party is smoking a pipe dream. There are elements in place that will ever keep it from being anymore that a useless branch of the Republican Party. Hence my statement about throwing in with the Libertarians. I'd much rather go with a group that is founded on personal liberties, than with any group that has anything to so with the smoke and mirrors of the two party false paradigm.

While I can believe that the 2 main parties wouldn't stop a the things you've described to undermine the Tea Party, I still feel it will eventually overcome the idiots who run our country, and give control back to the people instead of the special interest groups. You can fool some of the people all the time; you can fool all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time! God I hope I'm right!

How can it overcome it's masters hand when it's hamstrung from every angle? Admittedly, they've rigged the elections to unbelievable levels to keep the libertarians AND tea party in control. Once a group is infiltrated and ostracized by the occupied media here in this country, that group is essentially dead. It can't move from it's gridlock.

The brainwashed masses were programmed by the media that the tea party were evil racists. So even if they could clean house and get every brown shirt or agent out, they would still have an uphill battle to regain their once strong stature.

I'm sure there were elements within the group that fully embraced Glenn beck swooping to their aid. Little did they realize that his baggage and efforts would be a serious drawback to their efforts.

Face facts; the tea party is dead in the water. The ONLY thing that can do what they did at first, is if another grass roots organization springs up in its place. One that is aware of COINTELPRO efforts. One that takes steps to prevent it. Surely you heard about that mysterious inner circle at occupy Wall Street that met daily. One of the guys was described as a fed. Even as liberal a group as occupy was, the Feds still hedged their bets, and infiltrated that group too. And steered it into oblivion.

I "joined" the Tea Party to see what they were about, because like many other people, I had no idea on what or where they stood. For the last couple of weeks I have been getting several e-mails a day from them, have followed them on Facebook etc.

I have concluded for the most part, that they do nothing more than give the left plenty of ammo to make Patriotic Americans like myself, and many of you, look like nothing more than a bunch of extreme crackpots. They are "to us", what the liberals are, "against us". It's like having enemies on both sides of you, but one is a double agent, cloaked as your ally.

I have found their rhetoric and propaganda to be as extreme, over the top and "disinformative", meant to do nothing more than be inflammatory and incite foolish beliefs, as what the far left (progressive socialists, anti-constitutionalists, extreme liberals) shovels us on a daily basis.

I used to have a lot of respect for Sarah Palin. I now view her as nothing more than a very nice looking, backwoods clown who should have stuck to being a governor. Every time she opens her mouth, the left can legitimately go "See? I told you."

When you are fighting a deeply entrenched enemy, who has garnered control over nearly every "information outlet" available, and that enemy does nothing but spew venom and lies, image is EVERYTHING. People can view you as reasonable, articulate and well spoken, which lends to the credibility of your argument, or they can view you as a backwoods, slack-jawed yokel who does nothing more than "cling to your bible and guns". The democratic party has done nothing more than run a campaign of disinformation for decades upon decades upon decades. And a lot of people believe in it.

The only way to circumvent that disinformation is to bring forth and present the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, backed by irrefutable facts, in a manner that even those to stupid or unwilling to understand, can be provided an "ah-ha" moment. This is not achieved by making inflammatory, untrue or radical statements, to a national forum. It only makes you look like a fool.

    Like the Tea Party.

I thought that the main purpose of the Tea Party movement was fiscal responsibility from the Federal Government. Hardly something that I would call radical.

The whole reason that I started this thread was because someone maintained that the Tea Party was responsible for creating a police state in the U.S. by pushing for building a fence along the border and for being responsible for the Patriot Act that was passed shortly after 9-11. I disagreed with most if not all of the supposition, but primarily the idea that it was responsible for an act that passed nearly 12 years ago when it is only 5 years old.

No responsible American would disavow fiscal responsibility by the government. I was happy that they created a voice to demand that responsibility. It has derailed horribly since then, so much so that no matter how big the turd is you throw at it, it unfortunately will stick. It has become victim to its own "craziness".
