I did think it could happen, I never was a trump supporter but did vote for him as he was not Hillary. I hope he can knock off the BS and appoint some good people to get things done.
Our guns are safe for awhile. Maybe our constitution is also safe for a few years. The Supreme court may get some better people on it. Ginsberg will now stay until she dies.
I have spent years regretting voting for Carter. At lest with Trump I will always know how bad the other option was. Knowing that will let me sleep better.
I hope someone slaps Trump silly and reminds him this is not game. May god guide his path.

It will quickly revert to a free market model if the government backs off and lets them compete over state lines.

I'm a firm believer in the free market system. But there will have to be a transition.

    Thoughts on the election

Agreed but not impossible. Deregulated insurance companies stand to make higher percentages as long as they dont follow cable and cell phone providers ideas of business.

I had planned to vote Gary Johnson until Bill Weld opened his mouth and said that if you don't vote for them then vote for Clinton. That was unforgivable in my view, especially since they where running as the "alternate" choice to both Trump and Hillary. I ended up reluctantly voting for Trump at the polls although I was very encouraged by his acceptance speech later that night. If thats an indication of President Trump vs Donald Trump then we might have somebody who can really get some stuff done. Either way he's got my support for 4 years unless he does something stupid.

This was the election of the silent majority and truly disenfranchised Americans, the working class. I think his appeal in the Rust Belt with people that are sick and tired of seeing our jobs go oversees is what got him this victory. If anything we're going to get a conservative court and some of us have another 4 years to get our firearm, magazine, and ammo situations taken care of at hopefully some of the lowest prices we've seen in 8 years.

If you really watched the election though, you know that this was an extremely tight election. Many states were won by less than 2%. That in itself shows we are a very divided country. Hopefully Trump can help heal the wounds but that will take time. Until then we need to stay vigilant.

For the time being, I wouldn't sit back and relax. Take a look at what happened in Berkley. This same thing could happen in other cities. The very vocal left is not happy. Some have talked about riots if Trump won. I wouldn't discount that. Trump has won but he has not made into the office yet. There are many things that could happen along the way. I hope it's a peaceful transition but I'm not expecting it. I truly hope I'm wrong.

The road ahead will be a tough one. We were on the road to socialism and that will be a lot of work to overcome and reverse. Don't expect the socialists to go down peacefully.

I am tempering this election with the thought that Trump was not my first, second, or even my third choice. While he is not the Beast, a known devil, he is the unknown devil. I am approaching Trumps election with cautious, very cautious, optimism.

I am overjoyed that the beast is dead and that we averted her assault on our liberties and the constitution ( For now ) but he still makes me nervous and I am going to have to see the proof laden pudding before I deem this a solid win.

Donald said the election system is rigged.

They don't understand why they lost:

Sorkin wrote that Trump has "dangerous ideas, a serious psychiatric disorder, no knowledge of the world and no curiosity to learn."

Sorkin said it wasn't just Trump who won but the Ku Klux Klan, white nationalists, sexists, racists and buffoons.
"For the next four years, the President of the United States, the same office held by Washington and Jefferson, Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt, F.D.R., J.F.K. and Barack Obama," Sorkin wrote, "will be held by a man-boy who'll spend his hours exacting Twitter vengeance against all who criticize him (and those numbers will be legion). We've embarrassed ourselves in front of our children and the world."
