    Help me reconcile with Trump.

I'm not trolling. I'm not looking to start to start a fight, though it's hard to imagine this not devolving into one. I'm dead-ass serious about wanting to frame his presidency as a positive thing for our country.

Like what I suspect are many members here, I voted for him. Trump vs Clinton was a no-brainer for me. Given the presumptive alternative, I'll likely vote for him again in November but at this point it would be with absolutely zero enthusiasm and some serious soul-searching.

As for personality, I've never liked the man. I did respect his vision for the country but recently I'm seeing him as more of a danger to our Republic than someone dedicated to making America great again.

I've always counted myself as a Republican, a Conservative, maybe a Libertarian but whatever the label ... ALWAYS an adherent to the Constitution.

So, as the title of this thread says ... please help me reconcile the leanings, threats and actions of our Demagogue In Chief.

I fully expect vitriolic replies but will greatly respect any informed ones.

He's still better than the alternative.
I will vote for him, rather than simply not voting at all, because I love our country.
If the Democrats get in, the American Experiment will be over.

Let us hope for someone better in 2024.

Remember that the other party or choice you have are the ones causing all this trouble for Trump and us. Impeachment, Russian collusion, virus, riots, lock down, fake news, treason by Obummers appointees etc etc. These are not Trump's fault but are stoked by the liberals, aka your alternative.

Try to imagine how bad things would have been with Hillary in office or even worse Biden. Then just think how good things could be if the libs would stop trying to destroy his presidency. Before he even got in office.

    Pretty clear choice, IMHO.

Nobody can make an informed reply if you simply make assertions. Substantiate. Offer the proofs which you feel underlie this premise. Only then can they be considered, rebutted, or agreed upon.

I'm with you @Hemi45 There hasn't been a defining item where he lost me. In all fairness I was never completly in his camp but he was/is better then the alternative. I'm still commited to voting for him but it's getting harder. One of the things that drives me crazy with him is. How he says "i'm going to cut funding if XYZ doesn't do this" then he doesn't do anything. Even through legally he could cut funding.

Personally his speeches annoy me. He is the only president that I have trouble watching. Sometimes I won't. He brags too much and I find that annoying.

I do like the way he handles the press though. He really gets on their nerves. I find that a bonus since we haven't had decent and reasonably informed reporting in ages.

Ya can't fault his performance though. He has been fighting hard attacks aimed at him since before the inauguration. Nearly 4 years of issues. It does make one wonder about the COVID virus, or one could believe in coincidence that the virus hit here in the states the same day that the impeachment hearing were to start. Oh yeah, and the impeachment hearing was held up for some reason until that day. Commiefornia declared a state of emergency after 3 people got it and the NBA immediately shut down.

When Michael Brown was killed, there was some rioting and looting but no one blamed obummer. But now this is Trumps fault. The rioting and looting are expanding to a lot of different places but all of those are blue controlled. Speaking of which, Dallas is one of them. What I found astounding is a Dallas County Commissioner who has always be at the forefront of protesting is calling this an insurrection. For those in the DFW area, that was John Wiley Price.

Obummer set the stage for the beast, including replacing most of the top military brass. She wasn't supposed to loose. All the polls stated, right up to the last minute even, that she would win by a landslide. OOPS! And I almost forgot, Obummer said what is Trump going to do, wave a magic wand? Basically yes and it worked.

We are being set up IMHO for socialism. Yes he gets on my nerves but like RPD stated, he is still better than the alternative.
