    Oregon IP 43 sS DOA

Oregon IP 43 is dead. The court ruled the title was misleading. It was being called a Assault Weapons Ban. But it banned semi-autos, some bolt and some lever action. They also threw in a hi-cap mag ban. Problem was there was no definition of hi-cap. Leave to Salem, they will come after us again.

Hope the 3% are ready to do their job, as they have a politician who has broken his oath to the Constitution.

EXACTLY, they pushed it through the courts in record time to try to get it on the ballot. Knowing this state, I can't believe the judge did not let them fix it in court and just move on with it amended.

To get the signatures, they just stood on the street corner downtown. One homeless man bragged to a reporter that he signed it 5 times and got $15.00 for that. He signed his name, his parents names and grandparents names. He felt he didn't do anything wrong because they were all dead and probably would have agreed with the bill. When the reporter was questioned he said he could not give up a "Source". Funny stand on the 1A to destroy the 2A.

I understand that the left wishes to limit us is some misguided campaign for certain types of weapons and magazine sizes. However, consider the reality of the issue.

Right now, there is no American Civil War, and you can buy food on any street corner. I doubt a beat cop is going to count the number of cartridges in your magazine while bangers are shooting up a ghetto.

And in the case of a civil war, is a cop going to blow a whistle and call a halt to the mayhem until he verifies everyone's magazine count?

Technically, it has been legal to carry a switchblade in Wisconsin for about one year. I've carried one on and off since about 1964. One FBI agent told me it was 20 years since he worked a switchblade case.

During the "Clinton Assault Rifle Ban," we had gun shows where any hi-cap magazine you wanted was for sale--out in the open. You can buy a receiver that's 80% completed and no one will know you have it. In fact, consider the black rifles that baby boomers have purchased and hidden (along with cases of 5.56 NATO) during the last fifty years.

Things like rifle bans and magazine sizes make good even news items. In reality, it's still "Molon Labe" if you wish to validate a man's property to a civil code. Can anyone document a door to door search under Clinton for "banned" rifles?
