    I'm very pleased!
Yes I bought a PD trade in M&P .40 a couple years ago and it was barely used. Hard to argue with, especially for the price.

I bought my police trade ins in an earlier generation.
S&W Model 10, S&W Model 15, Colt Police Positive. All are in 38 Special, all are already over 40 years old, all will still be around one hundred years from now.

I would consider getting a revolver trade in if it was .357 and not .38 special.

You have to be careful of ex-police 357 magnums if they are S&W's.
The K-frame did not have enough meat around the forcing cone, and years of qualification firing could cause cracks.
    The larger N-frames are fine.
Last year in a local pawn shop was an older N-frame 357 with a 6" barrel. Price tag was a little over $600, which is reasonable. I did not jump on it, rationalizing that I already have four 357's. Now that it's gone I've kicked myself in the butt a few times.

The ultimate police revolver was the S&W N-frame 44 Special from the early 1950's. Way out of my price affordability range, though. WHEN you can find one.

I used to have a 6" Ruger Security Six in .357. I miss that thing.

Glocks are over rated. They are ok weapons they got a big reputation by selling to LE below cost then marketing how LE carried them. For the small percentage of fire arms they sell they have had a large percentage of recalls. But it seems to be kept very quiet by the Glock owners.
Shop carefully when buying a LE trade in. It is a time when other traded in weapons are passed off as LE trade in's. Condition and price , know what you are buying and paying or it aint no deal. Very good weapons are on sale right now new for good prices.
Best of luck to you in find what fits you needs and price range.

My LEO trade in was a P226 357SIG. Many LGS have trade ins.
