    New From California

Hi, my name is Nick. I'm an 18 year old who has been into prepping for quite some time. The reason I started getting into preparing for a SHTF scenario is when I started becoming involved in politics and world events. I'm particularly worried about the inevitable Social Security collapse in 2035, and rising tensions between nuclear nations such as Pakistan and India. I hope that I can meet some people who share the same concerns as me, and who are more adept with the whole prepping thing. Anyway, glad to be apart of this site now!

    Welcome aboard!
You shouldn't worry about the collapse of the SS system at your age. You have a lot of time to be the master of your own ship.

My biggest concern with the Social Security collapse is not that I might be able to receive it once time comes, my concern is that it could start a chain reaction that could heavily damage the economy. As of right now Social Security is the largest portion of the government's Mandatory Budget.

You are rather astute to politics and economics for an 18 year old. Good on you! I'm guessing you didn't go to a public school. Am I right?

    And welcome.

    Welcome from Houston.

Don't worry about the ponzi scheme that is social security. Worry more about Russia, China, any country in the middle east, Iran particularly. Don't forget the pork chop in NK, or signs of war on the horizon, or the fact that 50% of our young people think socialism is a good idea.

There is our healthcare system of course, that no one can afford. Oh and don't forget that we are trillions and trillions of dollars in debt and the demonrats are doing nothing but promising more free shit to get elected. Free medical for all, free college, free housing, free, free, free! for your vote of course. ( In case your wondering? It ain't freakin free )

Don't sleep on our southern border being inundated by illegals with no money, no education, and way to many kids that are simply looking for "Free Shit" at tax payer expense in exchange for voting for the above mentioned demonrats (socialists)

And please, please, let us not forget our gridlocked, corrupt, partisan government who could give a damn about the American people, let alone the constitution and this republic.

Ahhh 18, great time to be alive.

    Welcome.

Keep in mind that if Social Security collapses the US Federal Government has collapsed so you probably have other more important things to worry about.

    Welcome from Florida.
Like my good friend Slippy points out, if SS fails the government has already collapsed.

A good question to ask is why do politicians try to scare people by saying SS is failing, but they are still sending out welfare checks every month and providing free healthcare to illegals.

Your first SHTF prep should be how to get da hell out of california.

however bad it gets elsewhere, it will be 100 fold worse in Cali. Zombies already roam your streets .... they're disarming the innocent, while the lawless get more guns. plus you got millions and millions of snowflakes around you that will be quick to become your problem
