    russian masonary wood fireplaces

    I am building a small cabin. I have been reading about these Russian wood stoves. They sound wonderful. Has anyone here ever used one ? If so please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

    I have not used one but they are very effective for not only heat but cooking/baking.

    That's what I have read a saw on YouTube. But I was hoping to find pointers or something?before I build my own it would be a expensive mistake.

    Consider this: the cost of the flue is a wash, . . . either way, . . . it is going to be relatively the same.

    That means you need to look at the cost of the stove.

    I've done masonry work, . . . and I've bought the stuff and the tools to do it with.

    I'll buy an American made steel / cast iron / sheet metal stove any day, . . . and twice on Sunday if the price is right.

    They are btu for btu far more efficient, . . . as well as cheaper for the consumer.
