Don't be so sure. There's always hope for heaven. He could've at the last moment been given graces we know nothing of.

@Denton , You gave James a gift with this thread and our prayers, I pray he capitalized on it.

I just saw this today. I’m an Orthodox Christian and we believe that we do not grieve as those who have no hope. The final judgment happens at the final judgement. I will add the soul of James to my departed prayer list, that he might yet experience God’s grace and mercy.

My preacher touched on this topic in his last sermon. He said he hated to get called to go counsel with those who were near passing and did not have a saving relationship with the Lord. The preacher said he dreaded to tell them..they have no hope. He also thinks Mormons are hell bound since they have a different Gospel than Christians..but what does he know? Pretty sure Jesus still loves some of them.

I donít know. Does the grace of God and the gift of Jesus end at death?

What if someone never heard of Jesus?

What if someone couldnít believe in this life because the evidence wasnít convincing?

Does Jesus abandon a good person at the moment of death?

I donít expect you to be able to answer this, itís just something that runs through my mind.
