In fact I have not seen that person here in quite awhile. But apparently I talked about a certain subject to often and they did not like it. And that person and the mods suggested I leave, so I did. I was never really comfortable there, not like here. I check this forum 3-4 times a day. That one maybe 3 times a week. So if a forum keeps me around as long as I have been here, I guess I found a home.
I just reviewed every one of your posts and your only thread at the orange site and found no evidence of a negative experience over there with any Moderators.

Please point to me where this bad experience was that you had with any of the mods there.

Edited: Ok I found what I believe you are talking about- https://theoutdoortradingpost.com/sh...l=1#post126125 But No moderators were involved or asked you to leave that I can see. The thread was a "Mountaingirl" thread which got weird nothing more. I really don't see why you needed to take your ball and go home I didn't see you as a thinned skinned needy person. Sorry one new members thread at the time offended you enough to leave. Please grow a pair and reconsider why you left to begin with. If there was a problem you could have asked Inor or myself to look into the situation.

Well, Hawgrider, I don't know how much prepping stuff I know, other than my wife and I sat down and created our first thorough "bug out bag" in a Harley-Davidson back-pack. My wife had numerous medical kits and duplicate IDs, and I had the 'tool end' of this project.

Right now I'm repairing/enhancing/refining a Monashee folder for our joint project. Yes, it's a cheap weirdo folder, but its claim to fame is four solid inches of fairly decent chromium steel which is taking a nice polished edge. It also has the "Field Strip Disassembly" feature which allows you to take the knife completely apart with just your bare hands, no tools.

Oh, I will still rely on the seven or eight Boker Kalashnikov 74 folders I have refined, but sometimes you don't need a scalpel, you need a putty knife...

Oh, and I have a question for a Moderator.

As I dumped this old forum, I deleted every nuance in our past history--except for one thing. There is an icon of their homepage so members can click on the forum directly without typing in a bunch of codes. The problem is that this icon does not have a "delete feature." At first, I just clicked on this icon and pulled it to my little garbage can icon--that does not work with their forum icon.

Other than look at this icon for the rest of my life, how can I expunge it from my homepage?

I didn't do it... At least I hope I didn't do it! I don't recall banning anybody over there since that bald asshat from GA (about 5 years ago) that kept posting pictures of his corvette and talking about kiddie porn.

This site is more than just about prepping if you want to search out more than just preps. PF has made a 180 turn around from when I originally joined here.
That turn around was much needed and can be credited to one lady here. Cricket is as far as I'm concerned the reason this site hasn't self destructed. And she now has pretty good team working for her here.

I was a long time member of another forum, I even had several private telephone numbers of members I never met in person and their one Moderator--who is part of their problem. This forum had started to develop "an edge" recently, kind of a "cool kids verses average guys" which had never been the climate of that forum before. In fact, I got a call from the Moderator one day who admitted he was "doing nothing" about such incursions because he wanted to keep the place "friendly." Yikes, he lost that battle.

I had been off-line for an hour or two repairing a knife. I decided to take a break. When I had signed off earlier, I didn't see/hear a bit of hostility. Oy, vey, but it was brewing when I jumped back on!

My first inclination was anger--then I stopped, and I mean I came to dead stop. The Moderator had already told me he was going to do nothing, and if the despoilers were now in control by his permission it meant that I had already lost a fight I didn't even know was going on.

I clicked on that forum's icon and dragged it to that little "garbage can" in the corner of my screen. Ten years lost in a 'click.'

And do you know why I stopped dead in my tracks? It's because of this forum. Denton will call me to shoot the breeze. And clearly, if there are two different and distinct members here it's Annie and myself. I always watch for her contributions, makes me feel a tad small I'm not more charitable.

So here's my unsolicited advice. Enjoy this forum. Treasure this forum. When you first turn on your computer in the morning, come here first. Recognize that you have an entire unseen cadre' of members you have never or seldom met who share secrets and desires with you.

I had to learn the hard way.
That is beauty of Gab.com. If somebody says something offensive to the reader..the offended party can block them so he/she/it dont have to listen to it. Works much better than little titty babies running off to tattle to the sysop. lol. Hey I think this place has a mute feature too. I guess thats what makes it so special.

We had an "ignore feature" at that 'other forum,' too. For me, it broke the give-and-take of a discussion, even if four or five guys were certifiable idiots, and only there to insult there superiors.

I haven't met a member here I don't like, truth be told, I think Hawgrider is a stitch, he ought to post more.

Been a super busy spring I admit Ive been slacking off here. Plus over the winter I picked up another time consuming craft of leather working. It really made the winter months tolerable And I found I can actually pull off some OK leather items. Ive been making knife sheaths and holsters. My last project before outside busy work started was a decent gun belt rig for my Blackhawk.

Here is a taste of whats been keeping me busy-

Did this one for the RubberDucks XDS .45

This hunk of cheap Tandy double shoulder has been a pain to work with.
It doesn't burnish well. It has bug bites. It doesn't stain as well as the hunk of belly I was working with before.

Here is the gun belt rig I made. I did not make the holster its store bought. I made the belt and ammo loops.

Wow, Hawg' but you do beautiful work.

You're right about Cricket. She was ready to 'drop the hammer on me,' but I asked for a second chance.

Ya' know, if she ever needs a knife, I'll polish the edge and you can make the sheath. We both owe her.

YES Cricket has personally saved me from the gallows at least once maybe twice here. So now I try much harder to behave here when I can out of respect for her.

although sometimes I just cant help myself ask Denton .... LOL!
