    Solar Storm Thursday

    Scientists: 'Extreme' solar storm heading to Earth

    What makes me nervous is when they say scientist don't know when / where exactly....BS they don't.

    A map popped up in ausprep that has the Americas as the effected area...

    But its a x1. Something... Won't even notice it unless you need to be somewhere and the GPS screws up

    Good chance of northern lights but not something that will bring the grid down

    It is "extreme" because it is was an X class flare. (X1.6 which is not going to cause too much trouble). The CME was pretty impressive - full halo. The solar ham site has some real nice pictures and will also have nice ones of the Aurora photos that people will send in. You can get details of the eruption and what kind of interference will result on the solar ham site,

    had some broadcast radio interference today,we'll see what tomorrow brings?

    Another flare alert 5 min ago, this one M-class, not as bad but the've been happening every 2-3 days
