I have a room in my basement that is a dry room, about 12x12 that i am building shelves in and turning into the prep room/pantry...
This is the first step, the shelf in the picture needs a little reinforcement since that will be where cases of water will be stored.
More pictures will be posted at the room comes along over the next few weeks

Very neat. two points though.
1 I would not store everything in one place. You could also incorporate contingency plans for the event that that room becomes inaccessible for some reason.
Nice stuff though got to start somewhere.
You might also opt for a mix of water containers. I'm guessing it was the best value.
I'd go with thicker and harder plastics for long term storage though, as the small bottles leak BPA.
We use so much bottled water that it dosn't sit down there for longer than a month. A that short of time the BPA wouldnt have enough time to leak out IMO. I do appreciate the thought tho. We also have more preps in other places, this is just over flow for the kitchen in terms of storage for every day items. My wife and I only stock up on foods we regularly eat, that way they don't go bad or expire. We also have rain barrels and a means for filtering/purifying the water, the bottled water is only relied on as a short term solution. In my SHTF plan we will immediatley start filtering water from the barrels into clean containers and use a mix of bottled water and the rain barrel water to make our water last as long as possible. I need to check into a well or other fresh water source as a back up tho..Quote:

If I was redoing my room.. I would make shelving that was slanted so I could load canned goods in and have the first in be the first out.... It is hard now... I pull from front to back and then move to another row...
I wish I had enough space to load in back in pull from front
