Every few weeks I take a look at the food we have on the shelf.
How often do you check your shelf to make sure your not short of something?
This week, I noticed the wife had done some coupon shopping and we had 70 jars of peanut butter and a BUNCH of black olives.

black olives are really good for you , high is healthy fats and can help lower your blood pressure and which will reduce your risk of heart diseases but its high is sodium which is not to bad for you if you are sweating

I check mine every few months. We never run low on stuff but sometimes I overlook expired items. I found a 3 pound log of summer sausage one time that had been past it's best by date for over a year. I threw it out in the pond for the catfish and turtles. I don't like wasting food but a year out on processed meat is pushing it for me!
I maintain a shopping list on a Excel sheet and "try" to note everything we use for the once a
month trip to Fry's Foods. They are nice enough to have a 10% off for seniors on the first
Wednesday of the month. We do go shopping as good sales come up, but 10% off is hard to
pass up for the purchase of staples.
I really want one of these!Hidden Content
Just as a side note, I do not like black olives... my wife does.. I prefer green olives... but the ids eat the black ones and they are ok on pizza... and she got a gas deal... buy 5 cans get 40¢ off a gallon

I didn't know that black olives gave you gas? Do the green ones?
Its become a weekly thing with me. And to be honest i need to shore up the stores and get more food packed in there.
I scan it about once a week move a few dates on a few thinfs to ensure oldest is used first etc.
I see my preps as my buffer between thses relatively easy days and anything that may not be as relaxed in the future, be it anything that puts financial economic or comforts in jeopardy.
So look often, keep it organized, and stay on top of it.
Mine are down about 20% of what they were so i need to stock back up. The good thing is i know now i have the family using the preps and almost everything we have is in constant rotation. This is awesome by my standards as it shows just how natural the prepping attitude and way of thinking is becoming for the family as a whole.

I check my food supplies at least twice month. I make one major shopping trip a month where I buy extra canned goods, TP, dry goods, etc. ( Basically every trip to the store I try to add something ) So much so that I have taken over one of the closets upstairs for dry goods storage.
