    The cost of paracord

I was searching for 550 paracord a while back.
Its dirt cheap in the few stores that carry it. Non of them are really outdoor/hunting stores and none of them carry (normal) clors lol. The local place brought in boxes and boxes of it. I thought "great, awesome!"
Absolutely no black or drab green or grey, no earth tones. It was all dayglow green pink stuff.

It all comes from the same few companies. When I try to order the same stuff online its about four to five times the price in shipping costs.

A roll of 550 in the store say ten dollars. Same 550 same brand online forty dollars and up just for shipping.

Its just crazy... What cost so much to ship a small roll of paracord ? I could probably put it in an envalope and mail it for a couple dollars.

When I order it I do so through Amazon and get the large roll. If you order $35 worth of goods the shipping is included so the combination of a large roll and free shipping give me all of it I could want.

I never joined - wasn't it like $99? I prefer to just make sure I order $35 worth of stuff. My orders are probably 4 - 5 times a year and I figure I spend less buying "extras" to get over $35 then I'd pay in the Prime Fee. This also affords me the chance to try some things I might not otherwise try or purchase.

That is what you get - that's what I recall was the two day shipping free. When you order over $35 its free but takes a week.

That works just as well as any other. Several people have done tests on the cheaper brands and every test met or exceeded mil specs.
