Sons shot gun- Super black eagle 3, mine - Versa Max. Both 12 gauge. 3. 1/2 number 4 turkey loads. In position at 4 am. Son uses slate. I use mouth calls. Put out a decoy. Used a blind. They both came in and were competeling for a hen (decoy). We had a double. Used a peacock locator call also.

Spring turkey season ends here on Sunday. My brother from Idaho is down for a visit and borrowed my shotgun to go turkey hunting. He has a lifetime California license which he got before moving. Anyway, I wish him and all other turkey hunters good luck. Nice birds Camel!

Nice! I hate turkeys. Turkeys are mean birds. Did you know Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be our national bird? Yes, it's true.

We are seeing a few Tom's out alone in the open field .
