    Airborne/Particulate Survival - R U Ready?

Are you prepared for a local epidemic involving airborne particles?

Simple, effective, and inexpensive solutions can be had using 3M half-face respirators (6300) and bayonet style filters (7093). Form fitting goggles also add another layer of protection.

So do I, but sometimes you either need to venture out in the public, or you're caught away from home.

Facial hair reduces the effectiveness of the respirators, quite a bit. I prefer full face, more comfortable and better protection

Hubs brings all types of these home from work all the time. The part about them I hate is how they steam up. I do think the full face are safer but incredibly claustrophobic for me. Hubs does a lot of stainless welding and when I help him he makes me wear one, so I get lots of practice in them.

Full face for ebola. It is a splashy disease with puss and oozing. Eye protection is a must so keep clear safety glasses if you use a painters mask (or else you may be tempted to remove the shades indoors.)
