    Looking for answers in nature.

Hi guys, is there a book you'd recommend for natural remedies to medical concerns? The shelf life of many pharmaceutical products is so short, I just can't see storing large quantities of things like pain reliever, say more than two years worth. What are some good resources for natural remedies?

I don't know about a book that would be very complete.....most only pick a few plants to go into detail, so you'd end up having to buy several to get the most info on the most plants. Just did a search and found this link that covers quite a large number of plants, and detailed info about them. You'd have to print off everything to assemble your own book though for hard copy. If you do, hopefully you have a laminator or access to one to protect the pages.

Thanks! I think what I really need is something very comprehensive--like this--but in an old fashsioned hard copy.

Annie, get a list of the plants that grow wild in your area and find out which ones are valuable.

Annie, you might try the foxfire series. Basically it is info gleaned from the mountain folks of the appalachian mountains. Good luck and good reading.

Over the years, I've bought quite a few books that cover edible and medicinal plants. The best books to get are ones specific to your geographic area. Those DO exist, and they don't miss much; Google them and check reviews of what you find. I also have a lot of print-outs of articles about edible and medicinal plants that I've found on the internet.

I use "The herb book" by John B Lust
And I never go anywhere without " Eyes windows to the body and soul" by Ladean griffin, alibris.com is where I got mine.
The iris of your eye has your entire medical history in them. Those 2 books are the only 2 I need.
