Antipode communication distance (how far have you gone)?

From Kentucky to Kauai on my logs with 20 meters during the summer. Not close to my antipode (Australia), but made me happy to reach out that far.

I'm only on 2/70 right now and sporting a handheld Chi-Com radio but I'm able to hit repeaters on Usery Pass Mountain (30 mi) to my SE. I can hit repeaters on the White Tanks (40 mi) to my west. So I'm getting to the limits of cheap ham radio with relative ease, but my biggest accomplishment is hitting Tucson (Mt. Lemon) 114 miles south of me and talking. Signal was a little rough but not bad. If I put an external antenna on the house I could do that a whole lit easier and I think I'd get a near to clear signal.

Not near as cool as Hawaii or Austraila, but baby steps. I want to get into 6m soon.

The only thing that separates man from animal is our affinity for toilet paper.
Once we as a society lose that affinity we begin to descend back into the animal kingdom, and after three or more days you will find the food chain beginning to invert on itself.

I'd have to review my logs, but one of my most memorable is a long path from Michigan to Antarctica (South pole station) barefoot (100w)

One of my friends from high school apparently got up to the space station. Last I heard he works for a subcontractor for sikorsky.
