Now if this happens, this will be kick butt.
Trump weighs mobilizing Nat Guard for immigration roundups
Trump weighs mobilizing Nat Guard for immigration roundups
Trump has ordered an additional 5,000+ ICE agents be hired. Part of one of his first executive orders. The guard would work,
however in many cases you would be pulling a guardsman out of his regular job or business.
The states would fight paying for it, they would have to be federalized to cover the cost.
Bring up the ICE agent totals would be a better way, and not cause legal battles as the guard would.
If they wanted to do a mega deportation, then use the guard for support for a month or two.
The storm is coming. I don't know if it will be sooner or later but it's a coming.Standby for high winds and heavy seas.
You're old enough to know that you never say never. It may not happen now but they will keep pushing buttons until they hit the right one then it's on.The liberals would burn the place down. Won't happen.
Trump wouldn't be first president to mobilize National Guard for immigration enforcement
AP reports Trump considers deploying National Guard as immigration enforcement | McClatchy DCIn 2010, former President Barack Obama said he would deploy 1,200 National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border. They were sent to Arizona, Texas, California and New Mexico. While National Guard troops were not authorized to arrest people found to be crossing the border illegally, they helped staff observation posts, monitor surveillance footage and build fences.
In 2006, former President George W. Bush called up 6,000 National Guard troops to California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. They were commissioned to help install border barriers, provide training and assist with border surveillance. The deployment was designed to support Customs and Border Protection agents in "executing logistical and administrative support, operating detection systems, providing mobile communications, augmenting border-related intelligence analysis efforts, and building and installing border security infrastructure." Operation Jump Start, as the project was called, hoped to relieve Border Patrol agents from administrative duties so they could instead focus on border security.
According to Customs and Border Protection, the operation resulted in the apprehension of 5,003 people, 110 vehicles, $11,052, 28,577 pounds of marijuana and 1,447 pounds of cocaine.
Given that illegals cost us over 100 billion per year it would be a bargain.$3.6 Billion
That is all it would really cost to round up nearly all of the illegal immigrants that need to go - well less if you just want the criminal offender one's and for some reason want to leave the non offenders here to soak up our resources.
Based on the estimate of 12 million illegal aliens x $300 each bounty; would make a lot of us willing to turn them in a nice check.
